Sunny Bagga (AD, Head of Rates): "Throughout my time at Record I have been presented with an array of interesting and challenging business problems, all of which have contributed to steepening my learning curve. The open and collaborative nature of the business has allowed me to interact and work with everyone across the firm right up to the Executive Team. Our team has a flexible approach involving each member taking responsibility for reviewing how we work to meet changing demands of clients and market conditions; this has certainly ensured a progressive working environment. Furthermore, the most rewarding part of my job has been the emphasis on open discussion and collaboration, which has been an important driver to differentiate us from our competition".
Susan Varkey (Director, Reporting): "Record has always provided its staff with the opportunity to learn how different functions work together in order to help build a successful organisation. When I joined in 2004 I began a very steep learning curve as I developed the skills and knowledge to fulfil both front and back office roles. The exposure I acquired during the early years has proved invaluable as I am able to apply a much broader skill set to my current role. Working in Reporting Services has provided me with many different challenges and ensuring accurate information is distributed efficiently to the company's stakeholders can be very rewarding".
Matt Bushell (AD, Operations Manager): "Record was my first position out of university, and having joined in 2013 I could not have hoped for a better experience. The initial learning curve is steep, but people at Record are always available to explain currency concepts or explain function-specific roles in more detail. Working in the Front Office Risk Management function has allowed me to attain an in-depth understanding of Record’s products, and I have been able to play a central role in further developing the operational risk controls within the business. The role also offers the chance to build close working relationships with Record’s Traders and Portfolio Managers. Record will always provide opportunities to take on additional responsibility within the company, and I have been able to perform the task of Secretary of the Risk Management Committee in addition to my day to day role. I have recently been promoted to a Senior Analyst and Record are supporting me with the CFA qualification to aid with my personal and professional development".
